As Glamour so aptly put it, "There are prints, and then there are PRINTS." This Spring loud, head-to-to prints could be seen in full motion on the runways. Floral, native, geometric, and kitsch (Were those parrots?) printed garments by Cynthia Rowley, Derrek Lam, and Jason Altuzarra (to name a few) left us both intrigued and bewildered as we dared to ask the question everyone else was thinking: HOW COULD I WEAR THAT?

Fortunately for us, one of our favorite style blogs has been quick to the draw, breezily showing that even the loudest of prints need not be feared. Here's the photo evidence from Sydne Styles that this trend is as wearable as it is fun:

Wear-It: Coral

It's no secret that coral is one of this Spring's "it" colors, and we're more than happy to embrace the trend. After all, what's not to love about the friendly orange-red, statement making pop that this shade lends?

Believe it or not, coral is a very wearable color. The red undertone means it's flattering on nearly all skin tones, so there's no reason not to work this new staple color into your wardrobe! Below are a few tips for pulling it off in every way, from lipstick to pantyhose...

Wear-It: Coral Lipstick

• The rules for wearing coral lipstick are actually quite easy: If you have a lighter skin tone, opt for a shade with more pink than red. If your skin tone is darker, embrace more of a deep reddish orange.

• Work coral into your wardrobe by starting with a key layering piece, such as a blazer. Throw it over cool basics like a white tee and your favorite denim to naturally transition into the piece. Nude shoes are great with this look as well.

• If you're feeling color happy, try coral denim paired with a cool mint green blouse and/or shoes.

• A coral handbag or jewelry is an easy, non-committal way to try the color on for size. Of course, these same pieces can be used to add big impact as well. Feeling adventurous? Opt for coral stockings and turn heads this Easter!

Women’s Closet Exchange has been featured in a key episode of “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s”, the new docu-series centered around Saint Louis’ popular soul food restaurant of the same name.

Robbie Montgomery, Sweetie Pie’s owner and former backing vocalist for the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, has long been both a friend and returning customer at WCE. In “Sweetie Pie’s” second ever airing episode, Robbie makes a special visit to Women’s Closet Exchange, accompanied by close friends and a fellow Ikette, for some much needed girl time.

In a recent interview with Sauce Magazine Robbie confessed, “I’m a shopaholic; I’m addicted to shoes, purses and clothes!” The article also reads, “Time away from the restaurants is spent shopping and at weekly slide dancing lessons. After getting her hair done at the Galleria she’s off to the Women’s Closet Exchange – Saks and Neiman Marcus if there’s a sale.” 

The episode is set to air Saturday, October 22^nd at 9/8c on OWN. We at Women’s Closet Exchange are thrilled to be a part of the Sweetie Pie’s continuing story.

After Hours Event 9.15.11

Last night's after hours event = a smashing success! We wined, we dined, we shopped, we played dress-up. We gave away a shopping spree and Marc Jacobs handbag. You know, typical Thursday night.

WCE Does FNO & NYFW
